Zambia’s UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has made a sizeable donation towards the repair of water points in Sindi Dirstrict, Easter Province. This is after he severally bemoaned the poor sanitation conditions in most rural parts of Zambia.
Speaking for the president while making the donation, UPND Chairperson for Agriculture, Food and Water Development, Levy Ngoma chastised the Patriotic Front (PF) for failing to improve sanitation conditions in most rural parts of the country.
The former Sinda MP Levy Ngoma said it was wrong for the PF Government to continue living what he termed as “extravagant and a lavish lifestyle” at the expense of the suffering people living in rural parts across Zambia.
Mr. Ngoma said that Mr. Hichilema decided to donate for the repair of the borehole after word got to him that the people of Chiguya village have been living without safe and clean drinking water. This is following the sinking and subsequent destruction of the boreholes that had been dug.
Meanwhile, in receiving the Donation Headman Chiguya has applauded President Hichilema for the wonderful gesture. Furthermore, he has since called on the UPND leader not to tire in his efforts to uplift the lives of Zambians.
